Toulet – Van Bael is not a webshop. It is a Brussels family business where, for three generations, every trophy, every medal, and every plaque has been crafted with passion—or at least with the knowledge and feel that can only be built up over decades. 1940-1950 – The base
It begins in the 1940s with grandfather Maurice Van Bael, a jeweler and watchmaker in Booischot.
In addition to his watches, he develops the ‘La Ledoise’: a pigeon clock that quickly makes a name for itself among pigeon fanciers. Sport and precision run like a common thread through the family.
1960s – The second generation
Danny Van Bael continues the family tradition; he learns the trade from the inside and becomes a watchmaker just like his father. But his ambitions reach further.
1970s – A new chapter
Danny Van Bael & Christine De Boever take over the Brussels firm Toulet – a name with a tradition in pigeon racing. The production of pigeon clocks or ‘constateurs’ remains the heart of the company.
1980s – The birth of Toulet – Van Bael
An inspiring business trip to the United States changes everything. Danny Van Bael sees how sports trophies are made there and decides to bring that knowledge home.
Back in Brussels, he starts his own production of sports trophies. The brand name Toulet – Van Bael is born.
The family moves from Brussels to Anderlecht, where an old mansion is completely renovated into a shop and workshop – a place where sales and craftsmanship come together under one roof.
1990s–2000s – Growth and innovation
The business is growing. A new and larger building at Félix Paulsenlaan 11-15 in Anderlecht offers space for a more extensive showroom, modern engraving and laser machines, and a wider collection.
Daughter Michèle Van Bael joins the business, followed by her husband Luk Van Den Haute. A new generational tandem that is taking the company forward with fresh energy.
2020 – present – The reference
Today, Toulet – Van Bael has grown into the leading Belgian reference; more than 1,000 sports clubs, companies, and government agencies rely on Toulet – Van Bael annually for their trophies, medals, awards, and official distinctions.
Toulet – Van Bael currently delivers throughout Belgium, serves customers in more than 10 countries, and has an online catalogue with more than 1,000 products.
